Before RENT, there was Tick, Tick…Boom!. This autobiographical masterpiece by Jonathan Larson, the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning composer of RENT, is the story of a composer who's waiting tables at a New York City diner in 1990 and writing what he hopes will be the next great American musical. As he hears his biological clock ticking, he asks himself a question that we all can relate to, will success come before time runs out? Containing stellar songs filled with rock, ballads and musical parody, ten characters, three actors and a band, this entertaining production takes you on an amazing journey that led to one of Broadway’s blockbusters.

Male 25-30 (A4-A2)
A struggling composer on the brink of his 30th birthday. Michael's roommate and Susan's boyfriend. Should have some skills at playing the piano.

 

MICHAEL

Male 25-35 (Bb2-Gb4)
A former actor-turned-market research executive. He is Jon's roommate and best friend.
Character Doublings include: Counter Guy, Dad, and Market Research Guy.

 

SUSAN

Female 20-30 (A3-D5)
A dancer and Jon's girlfriend. Sexy, kind, independent.
Character Doublings include: Karessa, Rosa, Judy, and Mom.

For The Video Audition: (1.) Please download and fill out the audition sheet below. (2.) Choose one song selection and one monologue side below to download. You are not required to memorize the sides. (3.) Then send in your audition sheet along with a video performing the song and your side choice to casting@tadaproductions.info.
